Born with an orthopedic disability and diagnosed with scoliosis, Evrim embarks on her new life under the sponsorship of the Solidarity Association for the Physically Disabled.

Scoliosis means that the spine is not straight but bends either to the right or to the left. Scoliosis is not a disorder but a finding. Just like fever or pain emerges as a finding pointing to a variety of diseases, scoliosis is caused by a variety of diseases, too. Hence, scoliosis is described as a deformity that manifests itself on a well-functioning spinal structure.

Born in the city of Sivas in 2008, Evrim could not walk, having a hard time in sitting down, failing to keep up with her peers due to hardships to go to her school, with enormous physical pain day by day, all caused by her disability and social circumstances. Evrim's parents did their best to stand by her for her treatment and education. For instance, his father had to take her to the classroom on a daily basis, waited for her until her class is dismissed by the end of the day, and make sure she is back at home safe and sound. Failing to afford a challenging and costly surgery for their daughter to eliminate such barriers, the parents put more belief in their ability to overcome them once they became acquainted with the Solidarity Association for the Physically Disabled. 

The road to a happy end all began for her parents once they requested the Solidarity Association for the Physically Disabled to take care of her treatment and saw their request welcomed on a short notice. Putting things in motion for her treatment, the Solidarity Association for the Physically Disabled brought Evrim to Istanbul and then had her examined by Private Acıbadem Hospital only to decide to kick off a process that involves a two-stage surgery.

Her parents and the entire staff of the Solidarity Association for the Physically Disabled were euphoric as Evrim set off on a journey of hope with such a great news. As certain checks were in progress, Evrim underwent her first surgery on a successful note. She is currently waiting for the day that the second surgery would be performed. With a smile on her face and brand new hopes, she is now dreaming of the day she would fully recover.
